Born To Do This
Hello, I’m Jennifer, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I’ve dedicated my life to helping others, and I love working with adolescents and young adults. I have been improving people’s mental health for over 30 years. My journey into psychotherapy and wellness began at the age of 13. I was lucky that, even then, I knew what I wanted to do with my life. At that young age, I realized my natural compassion in listening, providing support, and wanting my friends to be happy and healthy. I was born to do this.
The passion to heal others stayed strong. I refined it into a successful career and private practice through my education and extensive training and supervision. This prepared me to understand your entire situation, enable healing, and deliver solutions quickly. I’m your trusted partner in resolving emotional anguish, trauma related pain, and the frustrations of feeling held back.
I help my clients with a wide range of difficulties, including: anxiety, depression, family conflicts, self injurious behaviors, resolving issues before marriage, and building a positive self image. My specialty is treating eating disorders. Nobody should have to suffer alone with an eating disorder.
This heartfelt belief has driven me to become highly effective in curing people of this difficult and deadly affliction. Years of providing treatment, and specialized study, lead me to create my exclusive STEDITM program. It’s extremely effective in treating anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and body dysmorphic disorder.
I use a trauma informed psychodynamic approach to bring about deep healing. My goal for you is not just to survive, but to thrive and reach your greatest potential. This is the type of counseling you can expect when working with me.
With the incredible support of my family, friends, and colleagues, I am living out my dream. Learn more about that journey on my About page.
When I’m not helping others, I maintain my own wellness journey through calming activities and enjoying nature. My favorites are mindful meditation, journaling, sipping tea while watching birds at my bird feeder, feeling the sun on my face while doing a grateful list, and getting lost in the pages of a good book.
